Bruegel’s Winter Landscapes

Talk: Peeter Bruegel – The Winter Landscapes
Beaumont House, Southgate
Wednesday 22nd February, 4-5pm
Free, but please confirm attendance by emailing
Bruegel’s winter landscapes are cold pictures. The Hunters in the Snow painting – low in tone, stark in silhouette – reveals a cruel season of ice and hunger. And there is perhaps even more to it. This afternoon we shall compare and contrast a set of Bruegel’s wintry scenes from the mid-1560s to discover the much broader context of Europe on the edge of war.
Join the Beaumont residents and locals to discuss!
